CHILDREN’S
HEALTH MINUTE
Presented

60 Second Radio Feature MP3
"Bed-wetting”
FOR AIR WEEK OF February 3, 2003
Bed-wetting
can be a frustrating and embarrassing
problem for you and your child, but
you’re not alone. Almost seven million
children in the U.S. struggle with
bed-wetting.
Hi,
I’m Dr. John Hellerstedt with the
Children’s Health
Minute presented
by this station and TexCare --
connecting Texas families with
children’s
health insurance for 18 dollars
a month
or less.
The most common
reasons for bed-wetting are small
bladders,
the body producing
more urine than normal, or not
waking up when the bladder is
full. A child
should never be punished for
bed-wetting. As hard as your child
might try,
bed-wetting is beyond his or
her control. If your child continues
to wet the bed after age six,
contact
your health care professional
to explore treatment options.
Keep your kids healthy.
