The best way to get through an emergency is for parents and kids to be familiar with emergency numbers. Post emergency numbers in a prominent place near the phone and make sure all family members know where to find these lists. Include numbers for 911, police, fire department, poison control, your family physician, the closest hospital and who to call in the event of an emergency.
