CHILDREN’S
HEALTH MINUTE Presented
by the TexCare Partnership
60 Second Radio Feature MP3
"Sleep Problems”
FOR AIR WEEK OF April 14, 2003
With love, understanding
and a good routine, parents can help
children overcome sleep problems,
and catch some much-needed Zzzzs
themselves.
Hi, I’m Dr. John Hellerstedt and
this Children’s Health Minute is
presented by TexCare -- connecting
Texas families with children’s health
insurance for 18 dollars a month
or less.
Children get most relaxed and ready
for bed if parents establish a nightly
routine such as a warm bath followed
by a cozy story time. This will put
your child at ease, and make lights
out less scary.
If your child wakes you in the middle
of the night, give ‘em a hug, quietly
walk him back to his room, reassure
him that you are close by.
If your child’s sleep problems seem
severe or there are signs of illness,
consult your doctor.
This is Dr. John Hellerstedt, reminding
you that no child should be without
health insurance. Call TexCare at
1-800-647-6558 to apply.
And join me next time for The Children’s
Health Minute.
