"Dealing
with Asthma at School”
FOR AIR WEEK OF August 25, 2003
Asthma attacks
can happen anytime, anywhere -- even
in school. Have you helped your school
be prepared?
Hi, I'm Dr. John Hellerstedt with
the Children's Health Minute presented
by this station and TexCare -- connecting
Texas families with children's health
insurance for 18 dollars a month
or less.
Asthma attacks can happen anywhere.
So, it's important to help the school
staff be prepared to respond to your
child's asthma.
Find out when and where the school
nurse will be available and who handles
emergencies if a nurse is not there.
Put your child's asthma treatment
plan in writing and share it with
the school. Talk to your child's
school about how to respond to asthma
symptoms and avoid asthma triggers.
Know the school's policy about students
carrying inhalers. With teamwork,
everyone can breathe a lot easier.
Keep your kids healthy. Call TexCare

it's time to renew your children's
health care coverage. That's 1-800-647-6558. |
