This time of year in Texas, the weather can change rapidly from one moment to the next.  Lightning often strikes many miles away from a storm cloud and often hits long before the rain starts, so don’t wait till its raining or thundering to go inside. The best protection is to get inside a large building. Vehicles like cars and school buses are also safe shelters.  If you can’t come in from outside, stay away from trees and open water.
