CHILDREN’S
HEALTH MINUTE
Presented by

60 Second Radio Feature MP3
“Lightning Safety”
FOR AIR WEEK OF MAY 7, 2001
The warmer days
of Spring are here, but that brings
the risk of dangerous weather.
Hi, I’m Dr. John Hellerstedt and this
CHILDREN’S HEALTH MINUTE is presented
by the TexCare .
Lightning is one of nature’s most awesome
forces. And one of it’s deadliest. Teach
your child NOW about lightning safety.
This time of year in Texas, the weather
can change rapidly from one moment to
the next. Lightning often strikes
many miles away from a storm cloud and
often hits long before the rain starts,
so don’t wait till its raining or thundering
to go inside.
The best protection is to get inside
a large building. Vehicles like cars
and school buses are also safe shelters.
If you can’t come in from outside, stay
away from trees and open water.
This CHILDREN’S HEALTH MINUTE is presented
by the TexCare —reminding
you that no child should be without
health insurance. Call 1-800-647-6558
to apply for children’s health insurance
that for most families is $18 a month
or less.
And join me next time for The CHILDREN’S
HEALTH MINUTE. |
