"Holiday
Toy Safety"
FOR AIR WEEK OF DECEMBER 10, 2001
Kids and toys
just naturally go together at holiday
time.
But how can you be sure that the toys
you buy are safe?
Hi, I’m Dr. John Hellerstedt, and this
is the CHILDREN’S HEALTH MINUTE.
During the holiday season choose toys
with care, keeping in mind your child’s
age, interest and skill level.
Be a label reader. Pay attention to
the age recommendations on the package.
And, once toys are given, keep the ones
designed for older kids away from the
little ones.
Of course, special attention must be
paid to toys given to infants and toddlers.
No toy, or removable part, should be
so small that it could lodge in an infant’s
throat.
Protecting children from unsafe toys
is everyone’s responsibility.
This CHILDREN’S HEALTH MINUTE is presented
by the TexCare - - - Reminding
you that no child should be without
health insurance. Call 1-800-647-6558
to apply for children’s health insurance
that is $18 a month or less for most
families.
And join me next time for the CHILDREN’S
HEALTH MINUTE. |
